Did you know …

FilmFreeway, the leading film festival submission platform, rated us as one of the “Top 100 Film Festivals” after only our inaugural year!! You don’t want to miss what we have in store for 2017!

Script to Screen

You can submit your ready made film to the Film Festival or you can enter in our new, exclusive to us, category ‘SCRIPT TO SCREEN‘

What is that you ask…?Let’s say you have a few ideas but you don’t know what project to start next, you can submit your script and/or treatment to us and we’ll actually judge it as if it were the film! Upon acceptance you’ll receive a ‘Provisional Acceptance’ into the festival.

A ‘Provisional Acceptance’ simply means you’re accepted based on the promise to make and show up with your film. You will have to let us view it one more time just to make sure it’s pretty much the same script/treatment you submitted earlier. We’ll of course allow for normal changes during production.

Features

From all corners of the globe, these emerging filmmaking talents offer fresh perspectives and inventive styles. We present these exceptional works as a way to honor the independent spirit in filmmakers everywhere.

Documentaries

The documentary competition has offered a first look at groundbreaking new voices in American independent film. Fueled by fierce creativity and vision, these films are guaranteed to leave a lasting impact on the next generation of cinema.

Shorts

Limited only by run time, & driven by innovation & experimentation, short films transcend the rules of conventional storytelling. From cutting-edge animation to the best in documentary cinema, these Shorts Programs call out filmmaking’s most original ideas.

Homegrown

Made by some of the best local filmmakers working in the area, these films from around the CSRA poignantly examine issues that range from the personal to the universal. This category is just for those that live in the CSRA.

 Screenplay Competition

Have you written a great short or feature length screenplay? We have a brand new category just for you for 2017! We’ll have amazing judges review and rate your screenplay in competition for the 2017 Film Festival! The winner of the screenplay gets a cash prize and the chance to win a grant to help get that screenplay produced.
